Wheelchair accessible taxi requests

Request a wheelchair accessible taxi for a Sydney trip. This is a request rather than an instant booking: dispatch confirms whether an accessible vehicle can be arranged for your time and route.

Who this suits

  • Passengers travelling in their wheelchair who need a vehicle they can board without transferring.
  • Carers and family members arranging a trip on someone else's behalf.
  • Medical, therapy and appointment travel booked in advance.
  • Anyone who needs certainty about the vehicle type before the day.

How to request it

  1. 1

Choose the Wheel Chair shortcut on the home page, or select Wheelchair accessible taxi in the vehicle section of the booking form.

  2. 2

Add your pickup, destination, passenger details and the time you need. Booking ahead gives dispatch more time to source a vehicle.

  3. 3

Use the driver instructions field to describe anything that helps — kerb access, the type of wheelchair, or whether a carer is travelling.

Availability

  • Wheelchair accessible vehicles are a request. Availability is confirmed by dispatch and is not guaranteed at the moment you submit the form.
  • Accessible vehicles are a limited part of the Sydney fleet, so requesting well ahead of time genuinely helps.
  • If your trip is time-critical, call us as well as submitting the request so we can talk it through.
  • Submitting the form sends a booking request. It is not an accepted ride until dispatch confirms it, and a fare estimate does not guarantee that a driver is available.

Fares and payment

Wheelchair accessible bookings are priced from the same formula as any other trip, with the vehicle multiplier for an accessible vehicle applied. Standard trips use a $38 minimum fare; airport trips use the airport minimums.

You will see an estimated range before you submit, and the server recalculates the exact fare before any payment is authorised.

You can pay the driver, use Cabcharge/TTSS, or pay online by card where eligible. A non-cash payment surcharge of up to 5% (incl. GST) may apply. It applies only to website-processed card payments — no website surcharge is added to Pay to Driver or Cabcharge/TTSS.

Full detail is in our fare pricing policy and payment policy.

Common questions

Is a wheelchair accessible taxi guaranteed when I submit the form?
No. It is a request. Dispatch confirms whether an accessible vehicle can be arranged for your time and route, and will let you know either way.
How far ahead should I book?
As far ahead as you can. Accessible vehicles are a limited part of the fleet, and advance requests give dispatch more options. You can book up to 90 days ahead.
Can I say what kind of access I need?
Yes. The driver instructions field near the end of the trip details takes up to 320 characters — use it for kerb access, the type of wheelchair, or anything else the driver should know.
Can a carer travel with me?
Yes. Include the carer in the passenger count so the booking reflects everyone travelling.
Can I use Cabcharge or TTSS?
Yes, Cabcharge/TTSS is one of the payment options at the review step. It is settled with the driver, and no website surcharge is added to it.

Need an accessible vehicle?

Send the request with as much notice as you can, and add any access details in the driver instructions. Dispatch will confirm whether a vehicle can be arranged.
